Wolf launches an upgraded range of coolants and antifreeze in line with latest EU legislation
We have launched a comprehensive new range of environmentally friendly coolants and antifreeze fluids that meet the European Union’s latest regulations. With new introductions, advanced formulations, and modernized packaging, they offer a future-proof solution for the aftermarket.
What changed?
The latest European Union regulations prohibit the use of both borate and 2-ethylhexanoic acid for safety and environmental reasons. Wolf’s upgraded range features new formulations that eliminate the need for these chemicals while providing effective performance across a wide range of vehicle types.
It is a demonstration of Wolf’s pioneering spirit and dedication to continuous improvement. We took this opportunity to evolve our offering, meeting the growing technical demands of the passenger car and heavy-duty segments with exciting and innovative solutions.
Introducing EVO LL
As part of the range upgrade, we have launched two EVO LL fluids to replace existing G12++ and G13 specifications. WOLF COOLANT EVO LL -36°C and WOLF ANTIFREEZE EVO LL are designed for modern high-performance engines and offer 6 years (250,000km) of protection with excellent heat transfer and dispersion. They help to simplify cooling system maintenance while providing outstanding corrosion protection as well as improved low-temperature performance.
We use mono-ethylene glycols with state-of-the-art PSi-OAT corrosion protection technology. The additives are environmentally friendly with low toxicity and high biodegradability, making them suitable in many regions.
EVO LL products cover multiple European, North American, and Asian OEMs, including Volkswagen’s latest generation cooling technology, meeting VW TL 774-L (G12 EVO). EVO LL supersedes – and it is backwards compatible with – G13, G12++, G12 and G11 specifications. You can find the full specifications and compatibility here.
Complete range
In addition to EVO LL, we have upgraded the formulations of all existing products. In total, we now offer eight coolants and three antifreeze fluids.
G11
Our G11 fluids include WOLF ANTIFREEZE G11 (must be mixed before use), WOLF COOLANT G11 GREEN -17°C for most application and WOLF COOLANT G11 -36°C for colder climates with protection against freezing down to -36°C. G11 products are designed to last 3-4 years or 85,000km.
G12+
Our G12+ coolant and antifreeze contain Organic Acid inhibitor (OAT) for improved long-term protection over G11 coolants. This means a lifespan of 4-6 years or 250,000km for passenger cars, but up to 650,000km for trucks. Our range contains WOLF ANTIFREEZE G12+ LL (must be mixed before use) and ready-to-use WOLF COOLANT G12+ LL -36°C.
We have also expanded our G12+ products with the introduction of WOLF COOLANT ASIAN LL -36°C, which is designed for Asian OEM vehicles.
Electric
For electric vehicles, we have WOLF ELECTRUM COOLANT, a premium “lobrid” MEG-based battery coolant. We are now introducing 2 additions to the coolants range specifically for EV, a dedicated coolant for battery thermal management of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV), and a low electrical conductivity fuel cell coolant which is a mixture of ultra-pure water and high-purity antifreeze grade glycol.

New packaging
The packaging of our coolants and antifreeze has also evolved. All products are now available in transparent bottles, making it easier to identify the fluid.
The new range is available in 1L, 5L, 20L, 60L, 205L, and 1,000L sizes.
